We’ve had experiments on growing food in space since the 80s. But do they ever try a large scale test, actually grow a decent amount of food that can help cut down supply deliveries? Or just expand the options for fresh food beyond the first few days after a delivery.

Wouldn’t it be more expensive to launch all the material to grow food than the actual food? Unless you have a rock with nutrients, atmospheric chemicals and water near the sun you’re better off shipping tv dinners.
