Here is the 2025 Capital Sports All-Metro Team. These teams consist of players from Hinds, Madison, and Rankin Counties.
Coach of the Year: Patrick Robey, Madison Central
Head Coach Patrick Robey led the Jaguars to their third state championship in nine years and their first since the 2021 national and state championship season. Under Robey’s direction, Madison Central finished the season with a 27-8 record, winning eight of their final nine games including taking two of three games from Brandon in the MHSAA 7A State Championship Series.
Player of the Year: Jay McQueen, OF/P, Sr., Brandon
Jay McQueen was a force on the mound and at the plate for the Bulldogs. The South Alabama signee hit .435 with 19 doubles, five triples, one home run and 39 RBI’s. He scored 54 runs and stole 25 bases in 26 attempts. As a pitcher, McQueen went 3-3 with a 2.98 ERA. He worked 49 1/3 innings allowing 37 hits, striking out 40.
Hitter of the Year: JP Abt, IF/P, Sr., Hartfield Academy
JP Abt led Hartfield to a 28-8 overall record by hitting .368 with 14 doubles, two triples, eight home runs and 46 RBI’s. The Jacksonville State signee also scored 34 runs, stole 12 bases and went 6-2 on the mound with a 2.53 ERA.
Pitcher of the Year: Jackson Clark, LHP, Sr., Brandon
Jackson Clark finished the season with an 11-3 record and 2.35 ERA. The East Central signee struck out 112 batters in 77 1/3 innings with only 17 walks. Opponents hit .217 against him. His 11 wins were the 3rd-most in the state and he ranked 5th in the state in strikeouts. He finished his Brandon career with 23 wins and 205 2/3 innings pitched.
