Kyle Jamieson is playing for Punjab Kings in the IPL 2025 final against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, which is taking place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday (June 3). The 30-year-old fast bowler from New Zealand was signed by PBKS in May as a replacement player for Lockie Ferguson.

In the IPL 2025 final, Jamieson bowled the second over of the match for the Shreyas Iyer-led side and, on the fourth ball, picked up Phil Salt’s wicket. The right-handed batter from England, in an attempt to play a big shot against Jamieson, was caught by Iyer for 16 runs from nine balls.

After breaking the 18-run stand for the first wicket, Jamieson removed RCB captain Rajat Patidar on the fifth ball of the 11th over of RCB’s inning to end the 40-run partnership between him and Virat Kohli for the third wicket. Patidar was trapped in front of the wickets by Jamieson for 26 runs from 16 balls.

Jamieson, who has played 19 Tests, 17 ODIs and 15 T20Is for the Black Caps so far, has played for RCB in the past. He was signed for Rs 15 crore by the Bengaluru-based franchise in the IPL 2021 auction, and he picked up nine wickets in nine matches for RCB that season.

Apart from Jamieson, Yuzvendra Chahal, who is the most successful bowler in IPL history, has also picked up one wicket for PBKS in the IPL 2025 final. Chahal, who is RCB’s all-time leading wicket-taker in IPL history, dismissed Mayank Agarawal for 24 runs from 18 balls.

Mayank tried to play a big shot on the second ball of the seventh over but was caught by Arshdeep Singh.
