I know this personally as it has happened to me, there is no way to get help, even paying Meta $15 per month for advanced support the contractors working for Meta are only allowed to send copy and pasted answers from the publicly available help center. They can’t help with the problem, and they can’t escalate the issue to anyone that will help.

  2. It would be funny if it ended up banning the majority of active users on Facebook. Like if someone figured out the reason the AI was banning them and then exploited that knowledge.

  3. I mean, Meta didnt throw away millions of dollars on a shitty AI to have good customer service. Have fun getting no recourse.

All social medias is just a joke. I’ve been trying to contact Reddit admins via multiple channels multiple times and haven’t heard from them once… It’s all AI and once you run into problem you’re on your own…

  5. Huge companies are super hard to contact.

And that’s one of the reasons why monopolies are bad…… but humans like commodity and everything in the same place…..

And that’s why we are here now.

  6. Another reason never to rely on a proprietary platform as your primary method of communication.

  7. I had this happen to me on FB. My name is not typical and it didn’t believe I was me. 😂

  8. I got permabanned on Instagram between clicking make account and confirming my email. Still no clue what I did.

  9. I’ve banned myself out of Facebook more than 10 years ago. Never touched Instagram crap, ever. lol

Its stupid AI banned me for a week saying that I posted nudity, when it was a screenshot of my browser window of a Facebook group tagging a group admin in a comment explaining an issue regarding post approvals.

Still don’t know how a screenshot of an error while posting is considered nudity.

Boy this gives me a bright hope for the future with the partnership with Anduril…

    Just waiting for the headlines:

“Metas AI has been mistakenly killing the wrong targets and there is no way to stop them”

Just got flagged for spam and got deleted post where I was debating a fucking DnD rules for crits. No way to appeal to anybody, just dry infromation, that I should cease this kind of behavior lol. I guess our AI overlords don’t like the idea of us planning offline activities.

A strong reminder that AI-driven moderation, without human oversight or transparency, can cause real harm. Instead of ‘content policing,’ we need accountable systems that balance safety and trust. Hope Meta addresses this with more clarity soon. This issue was faced by my own friends multiple times.

Metas AI is just doing its best to help protect the world from the evil Zuck empire. We should be thanking it.

  15. Honestly, this is probably a good thing. Surprise social media detox.

(Do as I say, not as I do)

I had someone hack my account and simply change my email. It literally made it impossible to recover. Once that happened you have to go through their automated support and use your email to recover it

It’s such an obviously dumb loophole that Facebook never addressed. And that’s how they lost me.

  17. So many scammers (crypto, fake drop shippers, fake “I’m closing my business” or impersonating famous people accounts) that you can report and report and report and nothing ever happens.

  18. I am convinced no humans work for facebook.

I haven’t seen new features in *years* (that apply to my usage anyway).

I can complain about things, and they never, ever, ever get looked at.

There is no way to contact a human there.

Its just a bunch of servers and AI, which why it sucks so much ass.

  19. I’m a volunteer for a tiny local chapter of a political party in a small European country, and I manage our social media. For political pages, especially if you want to buy advertising, Meta asks for an ID, which I provided, but I couldn’t buy advertisements in time for the local elections because it took weeks to validate.

A few months later, my personal account was blocked, telling me to either use 2FA with my phone (which I never set up, so that was impossible) or use my webcam to take a picture of my passport or driving license, which it didn’t recognize. I unironically tried this >15 times, with both documents and with different webcams, but it never worked.

Of course there is no one to contact, no human that can confirm I’m really me. All in all it’s an incredibly shitty experience, 0/0 do not recommend.

Honestly no idea how this shitty company is worth $1.75 trillion. I understand that if you are not paying, you are the product (which is the users), but as someone who *has* been paying Facebook, I honestly detest it.

  20. Can confirm, permabanned 5 days ago for no reason. My account of 15 years full of photography from my trips, gone. My ability to communicate with friends and family, gone. No ability to talk to support.
