The Milky Way as it rises majestically above Hohenzollern Castle – a place where history and the heavens meet.
The castle, which is enthroned high on a mountain ridge, dates back to the 19th century in its current form, but its roots go back to the 11th century. It was the ancestral seat of the Prussian royal family and the Hohenzollerns – one of the most important aristocratic dynasties in Germany.
While power and politics played out down below for centuries, the heavens above quietly took their course – and still do today.

Nice work! I’ve been there a few times, but never saw a sky that spectacular.
Did you take this recently? If not, what time of year was this? I’m just wondering when we’re having the Milky Way core so visible in Germany.
