As someone who’s about to visit Tbilisi, Batumi, Kutaisi (+ a lot of day tours) – any restaurants that the locals would recommend ? I’d like to avoid touristy places with “fancied up” versions of traditional food, I want the real deal.
My impression is that most touristy restaurants still serve pretty authentic food, but the pricing, marketing and atmosphere is more geared up to tourism. Just avoid places with obviously non-georgian food, and more upmarket Georgian places who like to innovate.
I’d recommend Nikolozi, which is family run, and has the atmosphere of an old Georgian sitting room
In the 9th photo, what is the white food on the cutting board with maybe cheese or butter sticking in it?
