Just this week I discovered the wonderful world of Psocids in my kitchen, lucky me! Apparantly there’s 800-900 different types of them. The biggest ones are just over a millimetre, the smallest ones are whitish and invisible to the naked eye. Booklice is the common name.
I went to Comtec for advice, and -to their credit- they advised me to simply vacuum them up, they could have easily sold me an expensive spray… Apparantly spraying in a wooden kitchen (apart from being unhealthy) would introduce more humidity and only temporarily remove them. I was told the best thing is dehumidify the place, simple dry air.
I guess these bugs are very common, and I bet if you live in a slightly older house they live in your kitchen too! 😄
So here I am vacuuming every corner, utensil and appliance, I use a UV light to spot them. They love corners and plastic boxes/appliances that are not frequently used, I doubt I get rid of them completely… I did not find any other bugs like cockroaches at all.
Anyone else gone through this? Any advice is welcome!

    1. Buy Duracid powder. It’s a powder existing of microscopic glass. When insects walk through it, it’s death by thousand cuts. They dry out and die.

This powder is not a chemical and human/pet friendly.

I spray it in corners inside and outside my house against ants and other insects. It works for weeks.

You can also mix it with water and spray it on walls. Anything that lands on the wall like flies will die as well.
