That picture is fabulous. Are all our missile silos going to be in the Lake District?

I have a sneaking suspicion this isn’t about deterring Russia.

Look at what is happening in Israel, I know we have nukes but as far as I am aware we don’t have any missile defence, we need some serious fire power. The world is a dangerous place and China hasn’t even started yet.

Sure they’ll find the money for that from cutting more welfare or services.

We already have the nuclear deterrent. Adding a nonnuclear deterrent might encourage the notion that an attack could be made and not initiate a complete nuclear response.

Why not 6000 and use the change to spend on a few disabled people?
Always all or nothing with these lot…

The UK has very small numbers of any armed forces units. While they may be decent, there are just not enough to do any meaningful things in a large scale conflict.
10 boats, less than 100 tanks. A few aircraft. That’s about it. It doesn’t matter how good they are if they are outnumbered.
Take a type 45 for example, what happens if you shoot 49 missiles at it? It runs out of ammo and explodes.
