  1. What do you use for Hayfever? I’m on 180mg fexofenadine and it seems to do nothing for me.

  2. Allevia used to work for me. Now it doesn’t and I don’t know what to do… It makes me want to die!

  3. I’m a high hayfever sufferer.

    Opticrom eyedrops 3-4x a day.
Pirinase or similar steroid nasal spray once a day.
Fexofenadine 180mg once a day, take two if it’s bad.

This turns my hayfever from nightmarish to tolerable.

  4. Anyone had to increase their dosage of fexofenadine? This normally works so well for me but this season I’m struggling 😭

  5. Guys don’t use the nose spray they are trash, use the eye drops and your prescribed tablets, the eye drops are a gamechanger!!!!

    Get yourself a zorbing ball.

You can roll to work like a giant hamster and the best thing is, the pollen can’t get through the plastic or the breathable membrane once you’re zipped inside.

Not only will you look smart, but you can knock over all those bastard pedestrians that get in your way like you’re on Gladiators. Literally no downsides.

Jokes aside we’re all gonna be suffering this year by the sounds of it, if it ain’t the pollen it’s gonna be the heat.

  8. Just to throw out for any particularly bad sufferers – Try talking to your doctor about Grazax sublingual immunotherapy.

I used to be on the full gamut of antihistamines, nose-spray, eye-drops, two inhalers, and occasional oral steroid doses. After treatment I usually just take one fexofenadine a day and have basically no symptoms.

  9. If anyone is absolutely dying and doesn’t mind getting knocked out Benadryl-style, ask your pharmacist for Chlorphenamine. It works better than any other OTC hayfever meds but it’s very drowsy.

I’m starting to get really fed up of the constant heat this spring/summer. It’s gone on for too long. I’ve been ill for the past few weeks and my house isn’t designed for hot weather so it’s been fucking awful trying to rest and recover in my (attic) bedroom while my skin melts off

  11. I got battered yesterday, the worst it’s been for a while for me. Little hive-like bumps on my arms, hands, face, eyelids. So much gunk from allergic conjunctivitis.

I woke up earlier than usual, wheezing chest. Eye lids glued together, definitely much worse this year. Horrid.

Used to have bad hay fever, right up until 2020. Went vegan, and it got progressively better on a plant based diet (the more variety the better), and it seems eliminating dairy can be a big factor alone. Then I looked into natural antihistamines instead of medications. Stinging nettle leaf powder is a big one. I mix that into a lunch bowl and don’t even notice it. High in quercetin. And others like Elderflower tea. I’ve never been better and gone 3 years without suffering up to present. And I work with the plants in a garden centre!

Tried everything for years for horrendous hay fever and nothing really helped except beconaise nose spray for a short time. Last couple of years I’ve gotten a kenalog Injection from a local anesthetics women around late April and it’s been incredible. I know they used to offer it NHS but stopped it. Maybe I’ve been lucky but 0 side effects. Took about 2 days to kick in but it’s amazing. Costs me 40 quid and I’d say it reduced symptoms 95%

  15. This might seem like a ‘wifes tale’ but i have seen it work with my own eyes , eat local Honey , find a couple of jars of Honey made locally in your area ( has to be locally made ) , eat a spoonfool every few days or more often , i have watched people who suffer from horrific hay fever after having tried everything under the sun , was the only thing that genuinely worked . Something to do with pollen and building an immunity , few studies online to read about it too..

I don’t get it. Suddenly something that used to be a 30 second bit on the end of the weather report is now big news deserving posting on social media? It’s the summer and it’s hot. I think people that have hayfever would know what that means!

Apparently, having pets in your house means you’re less likely to suffer from hay fever as you may become more acclimated to certain antigens.

  18. As someone who seems to have symptoms so severe it makes me ‘medically interesting’. The only thing that actually works is steroids! Fexodenadine 180s, Mometasone Furate nasal spray, and olopatadine eye drops, Soprobec steroid inhaler.

The key here is to take these as prescribed and start well in advance! I take all these March through to September.

Blephaclean eye wipes are a god send for cleaning eyes when you’re coming in from being outdoors or when the eye gunk starts, alongside having set outdoor and indoor clothes. A cold flannel goes a long way for easing itchy eyes, and a cold fizzy bev is great for itchy throat.

I’m sure there are other things that have worked for others, but I’ve seemingly tried everything, and the above is the only thing that makes like manageable

I would suggest to any long term suffers to look into the Kenalog injection.

In 48 hours it’s literally turned my life around from the last 2 weeks

  20. Explains why I can already feel like death in the eyes. Need a good thunderstorm to clear the pollen
