A popular German TikTok influencer named Moe.Ha posted a video in which he donated his sneakers to charity, which ended up in a store in Cazin, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the video caught the attention of many social media users.
He donated the sneakers to the Red Cross, or rather, threw them in a shoe dump in Munich. They ended up in Cazin, reports the Telegraph.
“After almost 800 kilometers and five days of transport, the sneakers ended up in Bosnia in a second-hand shop. I couldn’t believe it,” he said, and traveled to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
He found the sneakers in a second-hand shop for 20 convertible marks. He decided to talk to the employee. He asked her where they got the things and she replied: “In Germany.”
“My boss is a Bosnian living in Germany and she brings the clothes,” she said.
The influencer was curious if the money came from donations, and she replied that it didn’t.
“I wonder how it is possible that we are throwing shoes in a Red Cross landfill in Germany, and they are now being sold almost 800 kilometers away, without mentioning to the employees or anyone else that it is a donation to the Red Cross. We have already asked the Red Cross for a statement. What is your opinion? Have you ever donated something and expected this result,” he asked his followers.
Some TikTok users believe there is nothing wrong with someone buying sneakers from the Red Cross, while others criticize the action. /Telegraph/
