An interesting snippet from this report. Do you know why EV's aren't cheaper than combustion engine cars in Europe & America? Because they are taxed with tariffs to make them artificially more expensive.
All of this is helping China in the long-run. Not only will they dominate in global transport manufacturing. They'll also set the technology standards in 21st energy and transport. Oh, and added bonus. With cheaper EV transport, all their other costs are cheaper & more competitive too.
Meanwhile with regional war looking more likely in the Middle East and gasoline prices probably due to steeply rise. Those cheap Chinese EVs are going to start looking even more attractive to global consumers.
As regional war in the Middle East means gas prices will likely soon rise. Electric vehicle sales in China are set to outnumber the total sales of all cars in the US.

China is planing on a reliable future, the US is acting on short/long term profits for the billionaires.

They’re only cheap because they’re subsidized. Would you like us to dump your tax money into Tesla?
That’s not the reason they are cheap, part of it. They have a scale industry now.
America should stop subsidies for oil.

If gas prices spike from conflict, cheap Chinese EVs will look even more appealing, and the West will fall further behind.
The US needs more charging stations before people will accept EV’s. We also need a president who doesn’t see innovation as a war against oil. China will continue to progress while the US falls behind. This is why I have solar and all EV’s; I won’t be swayed by wars or idiotic leadership that seeks short term profits over innovation.
When talking about the price of fossil fuels, avoid calling petrol “gas”, because it sounds like natural gas prices will rise.
