Mila Tsagalis

The village of Arlington Heights has hired Mila Tsagalis as its new director of Health & Human Services. With more than 25 years of experience, Tsagalis is known for her collaborative approach, innovative solutions, and compassionate service.

“Mila is a true public servant who leads with heart and vision,” said Village Manager Randy Recklaus. “Her commitment to community health and her roots in Arlington Heights make her uniquely qualified to lead our Health & Human Services Department. We are excited to welcome her to the team and are confident she will have a meaningful impact on the residents we serve.”

Mila joins the village from the DuPage County Health Department, where she spent 25 years, most recently serving as director of Community Initiatives. In that role, she led strategic partnerships with government agencies, law enforcement, schools, and community organizations to help tackle key public health issues. She managed a team of more than 10 employees and oversaw a $1.8 million budget dedicated to outreach and programs that enhanced community well-being.

In her new role, Mila will lead the Arlington Heights Health & Human Services Department, which provides a wide range of services to village residents—including environmental health, nursing, senior services, and social services. The department’s mission is to maintain an environment that fosters health, safety, comfort, and overall well-being for all members of the community—now and for future generations.

Tsagalis is a resident of Arlington Heights.
