Two decades after capturing hearts across Europe with her iconic Eurovision entry “Angel,” Chiara has returned to her signature hit, now in her native Maltese. The celebrated Maltese vocalist has just released “Kuljum”, a lyrical reimagining of her 2005 anthem that originally earned Malta a historic second-place at the Eurovision Song Contest.

Sung entirely in Maltese, “Kuljum” (meaning “Every Day”) updates the original’s fairytale romance with a more grounded message, celebrating the unwavering bond of love that endures through life’s everyday highs and lows. With lyrics co-written by Chiara and fellow Maltese singer-songwriter Kurt Calleja, the song is brought to life through a lush new production by Edward Abela of Midnight Studio.

“Kuljum shifts the focus from fairytale romance to the quiet strength of everyday love, grounded in loyalty throughout the good and the bad.”

Chiara, whose real name is Chiara Siracusa, first performed “Angel” at Eurovision 2005 in Kyiv. It became Malta’s best-ever finish at the time, earning a soaring 192 points. An already beloved figure, Chiara has represented Malta at Eurovision three times (1998, 2005, 2009) and continues to hold a cherished spot in the national cultural memory.

“Kuljum” stands as both a celebration of her legacy and a tribute to the Maltese language. It offers fans, new and old, a fresh way to connect with the emotional heartbeat of “Angel,” now resonating in the local tongue

Listen to “Kuljum” today and experience Malta’s classic Eurovision ballad in a new light, grounded in native warmth and contemporary grace.
