Economic expert Teuta Nunaj analyzed the effects that the war between Israel and Iran in the Middle East will have on the Albanian economy.

She underlined that the current war, which does not directly affect our territory, will have indirect impacts on the Albanian economy.

“We have said that Albania must start to be less dependent on the foreign market for basic products such as energy and food. Because any dependence in this case means a direct crisis that is transmitted to the Albanian market,” said the expert.

But Nunaj underlined that Kosovo will be more affected in the long term by this conflict, as energy production there is dependent on coal imports.

“Kosovo in this case has something because it does not produce energy like Albania… Albania is among the few countries in the world that produces energy in a clean way. Or green energy. Where water is used as the basic element for energy production. This makes Albania less dependent. But since Kosovo uses coal as raw material, or other materials to produce energy, then it will be dependent on imports if it does not provide the raw material for energy production locally,” Nunaj said./A2 CNN
