MARANA, Ariz. (KVOA) –  Marana will see growths in tourists and economic impact after the Marana Town Council approved the 10-year Tourism Master Plan. 

In a meeting held on June 17, 2025, the Marana Town Council accepted the 52-page document that highlights Marana’s strengths as a vacation spot. The document also mentions Marana’s abilities to support to tourism growth, elevate Marana’s brand image and enhance the experience for residents and visitors. 

“This plan is as much about the tourist as it is for our residents, the Tourism Master Plan team is thrilled to see this plan approved,” said Stefanie Boe, tourism and marketing manager for Discover Marana. 

The Tourism Master Plan process began in Jan. 2024, involving a 17-person committee of town staff and key external stakeholders. They conducted community meetings, presentations, surveys, and exploratory trips to learn about key tourism sectors.

According to Curt Woody, director of Economic Development and Tourism, the total economic impact of tourism in Marana amounted to $318.2 million in 2023. 

With the plan now approved, the team will start implementation plan 10 individual objectives across three phases: seeding growth, supporting growth, and reaping rewards.
