After the Brexit disaster I don’t understand how anyone can vote for him.
Even if you agree with Reform’s policies, it’s clear he’s really dishonest and untrustworthy so you be pretty sure you won’t get what you’re voting for,
Dumb polls, this always happens early in governments and means absolutely nothing. The only government this didn’t happen to, in my adult life, was the early years of Blair.
The first few years is always like this, I’ll be impressed if it’s like the just before an election, I very much doubt it will be.
We’re going to keep dismissing it till the next GE and then all pretend to be baffled as how the country voted Reform in.
The message couldn’t be clearer, the country voted for Brexit to reduce migration. 2023 had 1.3 million arrive in the UK, 2025 is set to be the biggest year for boat migrants so far.
If you don’t want a Reform majority, reduce migration now and stop the boats, it’s that simple.
I live in South Wales. We’ve had a left wing Labour government for decades, and it has given us remarkably little evidence that a more left wing version of Labour actually does much other than paying public sector workers slightly more, expanding out the bureaucracy and adding on to the regulatory burden.
It is also incredibly obvious here that the Tories do not have a single iota of a clue how to deal with the systematic economic challenges in the valleys. Instead, they retreat to a small number of rural enclaves with a disproportionately large number of retired English people, and say that the real problem is that the evil Welsh Government doesn’t spend enough on them.
You then look at the other parties. Plaid are the left wing version of Labour on steroids, thinking that the problem is that we haven’t created enough bureaucracy, we need more regulations, need to slice every tiny pie to create another slice we can pretend is new activity, all while completely struggling to convince anyone that their real priority is the valleys when their real priority is obviously West Wales.
You have the Lib Dems who take all of the posturing of Plaid, add in the NIMBYism and ruralism of the Tories, and you end up with more of the status quo.
What we are being offered by every party is the inevitable continuation of relative decline. Our town centres getting worse. Our public services getting worse. Our Council Tax bills continuing to rise. Buses getting cut.
The greatest lie in our politics at the moment is that democracy is offering us a real choice. It isn’t. We are just being offered the same packet of crisps in different coloured bags.
Everyone knows Farage is a liar. Everyone knows his policy platform is a crock of shite. Everyone knows his candidates will be a disaster.
Farage is a blunt instrument, directed towards a Westminster and Cardiff bay establishment. People dont particularly care which party or politicians get hit.

This is down to media propaganda mostly and poor Labour government policies thus far.
The media turned on Labour within a _month_ of being elected and public opinion has dropped since that point.

It’s wild how quickly people forget the chaos of the last decade and latch onto the next populist with empty promises. At this point, it feels like we’re stuck in a loop of self-inflicted disasters.

The people that vote from him better not even think about moaning and doing shocked Pikachu faces afterwards when they start coming after the minimum wage and the NHS. We’ll all be pointing at you and quite rightfully saying “told you so”.
Just like how you’re not allowed to vote until you’re 18, you should not be allowed to vote again after 70.
If that’s correct we are, as a country, as stupid as I feared we were. If we are ever dim enough to vote Reform into power, we thoroughly deserve the shitstorm that will inevitably follow.
Whilst I doubt this would ever happen, Labour and the Tories only have themselves to blame.
The Tories could have stayed in power indefinitely, given how woeful their opposition has been in the past 20 years, if they just ran a half decent government, reduced pressure on the NHS and at least did something on migration.
Instead, they themselves kept voting in some of the worst politicians to be leader that our country has ever seen. On top of that, they have the most out of touch PR and batshit ideas. Didn’t help either that they handled covid in the most incompetent way possible.
You’d think then it’d be piss easy for Labour. Just tax the ultra rich, ensure people’s benefits and health service are up to scratch and again, do the bare minimum on immigration. Nope. Shat the bed repeatedly so that it’s more shit than bed at this point.
It’s hard to blame the general population when our voting options are so fucking dire. Is it too much to ask for a politician who wants to HELP PEOPLE? And who isn’t a boot-licking, fame-seeking, money-grabbing parasite?
The state of education in this country, people are stupid enough to fall for these lies.
People think all politicians are lying scum who do absolutely nothing for anyone but themselves and are all the same, no matter what party they represent.
As long as Farage keeps giving easy answers people want to hear, there’s every chance people who started off skeptics of Reform, or even downright hated them, will end up going ‘screw it, he can hardly be any worse than the rest of them’ when election day comes.

if you look into the small towns with the most division, you will see that each local election is either won by reform or by an independent with an islamic background

Honestly, the state of this place, even given this muppet a glint of hope is worrying. The sheer volume of mildly to outwardly racist people disgusts me. As someone else says, the country deserves what it gets if he gets in charge. All he will do is get popularity on the “kick em out” vocal and then take money out of the system and give it to his cronies like the throws did.

And this categorically shows that Starmers strategy of pandering to the far right and being a Reform tribute act is a complete and total failure.
The media have a lot to answer for, they have manufactured this every step of the way.
I would also say that some Labour voters could be quite apathetic about voting, but Reform voters could be very good at going and voting. Whether it’s just the type of people or that you’ll vote more if your party is in power, I don’t know.

Could somebody explain why it seems a foregone conclusion in the media that reform would win a GE? Statistically they won less seats than Green and Lib Dem in the local elections I thought, but the media pushes them as though they are the opposition party with all of the Tory votes. Is there something I am missing in the numbers?
I mean he’s purely going to win out of the stupidity and weakness of the Tories and Labour for even now barely acknowledging that immigration is a huge issue.
Reform gets Elon’s money, no amount of shouting convinces anyone that Starmer is making people’s lives better.
Things need to change drastically to stop that frog from becoming PM.

I don’t believe these polls. The last election had it saying one thing and another happening, like labour winning every seat in parliament and the tories having one MP and they have to sit in the cupboard. Reform getting way more than they did etc.
Same in the US with their polling. Had Harris flipping some deep red state by a crazy swing which everyone was like that’s it! She’s won this election if that state is flipped and then other polls started saying similar things.
