  1. While simultaneously funding farage and reform to moan about it.

Everyone that’s fallen for it again, are you gonna learn yet?

  2. This entire article is allegedly based on *two sentences* quoted from what an anonymous ‘senior security source’ has told the Sun. The rest of the article is then your usual rent-a-quotes from Tory and Reform MPs, as well as repeating previous stories about *bad immigrants*.

Especially given the Sun’s usual relationship with the truth this is the thinnest of thin evidence. But I guess this kinda slop is fine because users can read the headline, sit in a circle and chant ‘IMMIGRANTS BAD!’ over and over again.

  3. Previous post was removed by admins (at over 300 comments in 2 hours!) as the title was not accurate enough apparently.

Just to provide some clarity as a lot of posters in the previous post seemed to be taking from this that Russia is directly shipping people across the channel into the UK. Here’s a bit of an overview of the process with some links as citations at the end.

    – Russia is seeking to dismantle the US-led global hegemony that has existed for much of the last 100 years.

    – It seeks to replace this system with a multi-polar global order in which Russia is able to claim a sphere of influence.

    – The Russian military and Russian PMCs such as Wagner group are deployed to hotspots of conflict and unrest around the world, often on the agreement of land leases or large shares in resource extraction.

    – Russian forces train local forces in and themselves engage in brutal military tactics, often maximizing the use of highly destructive weaponry (e.g. mass artillery, prolonged aerial bombardment etc.) onto civilian populations as a means of causing terror.

    – These tactics, quite deliberately, cause mass-panic and inevitably a mass migration as people flee for their fucking lives.

    – Many of those fleeing are being directed towards Europe or as in the case of Poland, Finland, and the Baltic States literally trafficked through Russian territory, up to the borders of Europe, and forced to attempt a crossing at gunpoint.

    – Russia then is also pouring huge amounts of money and political capital into support for Far-Right groups (amongst others! Many far-left groups as well) which build the entirety of their political platform around this issue. Messaging around this issue is greatly amplified by bot farms and other forms of online memery.

    – Russia’s enemies in the West are paralyzed. Trying to deal with this issue is almost impossible, we cannot stop the destruction in many of these territories without our own military involvement. The entire issue streams political capital into these far-right groups which entirely coincidentally also take a pro-Russian stance on pretty much every other issue, ape the kind of faux social-traditionalism that dominates Russian politics, oppose the entire Western-led rules-based global system of international law, oppose Western military alliances and co-operation such as the EU and NATO, and just generally take the Russian view of politics as a means to open up the public purse to private oligarchs.

I am DESPERATE for this country to have this debate. We need to be talking about this.

It is beyond insane to me how open knowledge this all is, yet the moment its presented to the public in any way its like it gets immediately MemoryHoled or shut down.

Quite seriously, maybe I need to take the tin-foil off, but this issue scares me more than anything, how we are very openly being led down this path by our nose/on a leash but no one wants to acknowledge what is going on??

Read Anne Applebaum’s book Autocracy Inc.

This is all about destabilising Western Democracy.

It’s in the sun it must be the truth.
    You know, just like Hillsborough.

Is this invocation of the Hard R of Russia the final push you need to get the Cotswolds Lib Dems and BlueSky progressives to agree the borders need to be policed?

I am going to doubt this one. Unless you want to extrapolate from Brexit, where Russian interference helped spread propaganda or the Leave campaign, the migrant crisis is solely down to us. Not having help from France has been a massive issue but the act remains that the Tories spent more time dreaming up the Rwanda plan than they did doing anything useful. As bad as Russia is, this is down to us having a failing asylum processing scheme and underfunding border patrols since 2010.

  8. DrIvoPingasnik on

We don’t need foreign governments to destabilize our country. Our own government is doing a bang-up job on its own, thank you very much.

  9. We know that they did this to Poland (via Belarus) and Finland directly. They know that these people are a drain on society and a problem culturally, and having to take them in uses national resources that weakens us. The evidence for them intentionally pushing people to try it on with the UK is limited, though it wouldn’t be too surprising as we know they are hostile to us.

I’m surprised that you’d post this, though, as you’re normally a poster who likes to claim there are no issues with large scale migration, especially the kind of people that Russia was pushing into the EU and who arrive here on illegal small boats. Why do you think Russia wants to send them west? It’s not because they’re altruists who want to help us out, it’s because they know these people are a burden.

  10. Why is a Sun story getting so many upvotes? stories from these rags should be downvoted out of existance. Basically anything from Murdoch, I’ve eleminated it from my news feed along with the DE & DM, Torygraph is on very thin ice
