The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of Kosovo (MFA) announced on Wednesday that it had successfully completed the evacuation of several Kosovar citizens from Israel during the 12-day war between Iran and Israel.
The ministry stated that they were evacuated during the first week of the conflict through Jordan and Egypt, but did not disclose the number of Kosovar citizens evacuated.
“The process was carried out in close coordination with Israeli authorities and the embassies of Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, and Egypt in Israel,” the statement read.
After 12 days of mutual bombardment, Iran and Israel agreed on a ceasefire on Monday, mediated by U.S. President Donald Trump.
The ceasefire was being implemented on Wednesday, one day after both sides declared victory following 12 days of fighting, during which the U.S. intervened by conducting airstrikes in support of Israel to destroy Iran’s uranium enrichment facilities.
The MFA also said it is closely monitoring the case of a Kosovar woman currently undergoing medical treatment at Soroka Medical Center in the city of Beersheba, which was targeted during the brief war.
“Fortunately, she was not present during the attack and is in good health. The Embassy of Kosovo in Israel is in continuous contact with her family and is working to arrange their evacuation as soon as conditions allow,” the ministry stated.
Dozens of people were injured in the attack on the hospital in Beersheba, which also suffered material damage.
The ministry added that another Kosovar citizen is currently in the process of leaving Israel through Egypt, with the support of the Kosovar embassy.
According to the latest data from the Kosovo Embassy in Israel, there are still 13 Kosovar citizens in the country, none of whom have expressed a desire to leave so far.
The ministry emphasized that, given the worsening security situation in Israel, it calls on all Kosovar citizens present in the territory to exercise maximum caution and remain only in safe areas.
