Kosovo’s Ambassador to Germany, Faruk Ajeti, through a post on Facebook, shared a video of German MP Johannes Volkmann giving a speech in the German parliament, also mentioning Kosovo.
Ajeti wrote that Volkmann, who is the nephew of former German Chancellor Helmut Kohl, one of Kosovo’s biggest supporters, has demanded that the latter be accepted by all European Union states.
The German MP has also called for Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe.
“Thank you Johannes! While Helmut Kohl’s last speech in the Bundestag was on July 1, 1999, his grandson, Johannes, debuted yesterday with his first speech in the Bundestag – and that with strong support for Kosovo, on the occasion of the vote to extend the Bundeswehr mission in Kosovo. An extraordinary speech, which calls for the recognition of Kosovo by all EU states, its membership in the Council of Europe, as well as respect for the decision of the International Court of Justice,” Ajeti wrote. /Express newspaper
