Feta cheese requires 3 parts sheep milk to 1 part goat milk. Together with extra virgin olive oil, feta is Greece’s main food export, supporting Greece’s economy substantially. North Africa also has a lot of goats, but for different reasons. Goats do not need grass like sheep. They can eat off trees and climb, too, and are more resilient to heat, unlike sheep.
Because we use a lot of goat milk for cheese making. And also goat meat is delicious (when properly cooked)
