Nearly 400 Bosniak families sought refuge in the Levanta and Palestine region in late 19. century after the Austro-Hungarian annexation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and after the reward of the Ottoman Empire.
Bosniaks flew into other ends of the Ottoman Empire in fear of the new authorities, including Palestine.
In Palestine, most Bosniaks began to inhabit a small fishing village south of Haifa, Caesarea (Qisarya), which was a ruin at the time. It is believed that with their presence they contributed significantly that the forgotten ancient Caesarea was then renewed.
In the 1887 census report, Caesare had an absolute Muslim majority. Bosniaks were 265, and other Muslims 670, the data are the Ottoman census and registry of the population. In addition to Caesarea, Bosniaks also settled on Janoon, Nabulus and Tulkarem.
Arriving in Palestine, Bosniaks did not lose their relationship with their origin but struggled to continue to nurture tradition, so Caesare built in the European architectural style during that period. In Caesare, Bosniaks built a school and two mosques, dealt with agriculture (olive growing and oranges), hunting, livestock and craft.
Caesare is ethnically cleaned during the Zionist Invasion 15. February 1948, Bosniaks were displaced, and the village was mostly destroyed.
The Bosniaks of this area adopted a common surname Bushnak.

Bosnjaci su se selili od Sudana do Irana.
To dovoljno govori koliko nas se dolaskom Austrougarske iselilo.
Postali smo manjina i nasu zemlju su svi rezimi koji su dolazili i poslije AH dijelili drugim narodima.
Ali tako je kako je, ti ljudi vise nisu Bosnjaci, a mi ne trebamo da zivimo u proslosti.
Upoznao sam jednu djevojku iz Libanona kojoj su tipa pradjedovi i prabake bili iz Bosne.
Mene zanima jesu li te veze možda igrale ulogu u stvaranju dobrih odnosa između Jugoslavije i PLO?
