Trump from the Oval Office: A friend in Serbia told me they were going to go to war with Kosovo again, we stopped it

US President Donald Trump, during a conference from the Oval Office, said that his Administration managed to make peace between several peoples in a few months, mentioning Kosovo and Serbia among them.
Trump said that Serbia was ready to go to war “with a group” and added that a friend of his told him that they would go to war again with Kosovo, but that this did not happen because “we stopped it.”
“This is a tremendous breakthrough. In just a few months, we have achieved peace between India and Pakistan, Israel and Iran, and between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda, and a few others as well. Serbia, you know, was about to go to war with a group. I won’t mention it, because it didn’t happen – we managed to stop it. But I have a friend in Serbia, and he said to me: ‘We’re going to go to war again.’ And I don’t want to mention that it’s Kosovo, but it’s Kosovo. They were going to start a big war, but we stopped it. We stopped it because of trade. They want to trade with the United States. I told them: we don’t trade with people who go to war,” Trump said, Gazeta Express reports.
Trump also spoke about this topic during a press conference on June 27, saying that he had threatened Serbia with a halt to trade with the United States, as there was a risk that the Serbian state would attack Kosovo and a “major war” would occur.
“We’ve done a lot of work. I don’t know if there’s any president who’s worked harder than me. Serbia, Kosovo, they were going to go to it, it would be a big war. I said if that happens, you’re not going to trade with the United States. And they said, look, maybe we’re not going to go to it. That happened with India and Pakistan too,” he said.
Trump has recently mentioned Kosovo and Serbia several times with the claim that he has stopped the conflict.
