How do you repair your car tyre punctures. Do you use a mechanic? Whats the fair cost?
I paid 300 NOK and the puncture kit I searched in Thansen is around 100 NOK.
I believe I overpaid and next time I am going to do it myself. 🥲🥲

Every repair costs a lot less to do yourself. I think you may have gotten easy off with just 300kr for the repairs. This is such an easy job that I would definately do it myself.
300 is really cheap if it was done properly…
I have paid from 300 to 500 NOK for the job, seems fair. I wouldn’t bother doing it myself, but if you feel like it is worth it you.
Why pay a hairdresser when scissors are just 29kr?
You can get repair kits from AliExpress for about 40 NOK if you want it cheaper.
Did they plug it from the inside? Or just a “worm” from the outside?
Honestly, I think 100 NOK sounds ridiculously cheap for a proper repair. A mechanic has to bring in the car then, jack it up, remove the wheel, inspect the tire, possibly remove the tire from the rim, patch it from the inside (which is the correct way), and remount and balance it. That’s at least 20-30 minutes of work with expensive equipment and skilled labor.
In my opinion, a fair price would be somewhere between 700 and 1200 NOK depending on the workshop. If you got it done properly for 100, you got a bargain.
That said, from the photo, the tire looks very worn down. I’d be more concerned about the tread depth than the puncture. It might not even be legal to use depending on how shallow it is. You may want to check if it’s still above 1.6 mm (summer) or 3 mm (winter). If not, it’s definitely time for a new tire.
Edit: Edited the cost from 300 to 100, i misunderstood
You need new tires. There is no shoe left. You are putting everyone else in danger
I work as a tow truck driver.
Your cut from an emergency repair would be 300/500 or 750kr in most cases covered by insurance. Insurance would cover exceeding costs if you have delkasko/kasko, if a tow truck driver comes to help you, the actual price covered by insurance is actually a few thousand kr.
Price of a “proper” repair at a tyre shop would be around 500-1000kr for one tyre, but you need to either get the car or the tyre to it, but with an emergency repair first, you can do this at a fitting time, and drive there yourself.
You could definitely fix a puncture like this yourself in many cases, but it *can* leak air/fail. I have yet to ever experience a diy plug kit to fail when installed properly though. Shop option is what you definitely are reccomended, and it will be a proper repair, where the tyre is removed debeaded and plugged from the inside.
If you paid 300 for any of the above, it was pretty cheap.
Last time I had a similar situation I drove to a nearby tire shop before losing all pressure. Paid 450 to get it fixed.
Happy to pay that amount to get it professionally fixed in 15 min while waiting and continue my day.
You don’t need a repair. You need new tyres mate. Their getting very close to the low tread mark.
500 normally but this is an easy fix with a kit….
