Joint patrolling between the Kosovo and Albanian Police begins on July 1st, in Albanian territory

In the context of the summer season and the increased flow of citizens traveling from Kosovo to Albania, joint patrolling between the State Police and the Kosovo Police on Albanian territory will officially begin on July 1, 2025.
This development comes after the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation by the Director General of the State Police, Ilir Proda, and his counterpart from Kosovo, Colonel Gazmend Hoxha.
“The goal of this cooperation is to strengthen road safety, more efficient traffic management on the main axes connecting the two countries, as well as the prevention of road violations and accidents during the summer months,” the state police statement said.
Director Proda described the presence of Kosovar colleagues as a valuable support and symbol of harmony between the two institutions, not only in the field of road policing, but also in the fight against crime and lawlessness.
Meanwhile, Colonel Hoxha stated that the participation of Kosovo police officers in this mission is an honor and a responsibility, emphasizing the commitment to effective cooperation and service to citizens.
“Joint patrols aim to facilitate movement and provide a greater sense of security for tourists and citizens traveling to the Albanian coast during the tourist season.”
