Several dams can be found throughout the many creeks and rivers that wind through Bucks County. Here’s a look at a few of them:
Grand View Health officially joined the sprawling St. Luke’s University Health Network on Tuesday, capping an acquisition process that began in September.
St. Luke’s fifth acquisition in the past decade, Grand View in Sellersville in Upper Bucks County has become the network’s 16th campus, following Easton Hospital, Sacred Heart Hospital and Blue Mountain Health System. Grand View’s president and CEO, Doug Hughes, will remain in his role as president in the hospital’s new era.
In acquiring Grand View, St. Luke’s has taken on not only its level II trauma center, several outpatient facilities and more than 2,000 employees, but also a health network that has been operating at a significant financial deficit for several years.
In the years leading up to its acquisition, Grand View suffered persistent losses — losing more than $39 million in 2023 and $25 million the year prior, according to a review of tax documents.
St. Luke’s and Grand View first announced their intention to merge in September, signing a definitive agreement at the end of the year.
“St. Luke’s philosophy remains that health care is a local issue, which has allowed all of the hospitals and other organizations that joined our Network to not only survive, but to thrive,” said St. Luke’s president and CEO Rick Anderson in a statement about the merger.
