    It’s about you knowing they exist and that they care for your community. It’s a way to stay top of mind so that when the next election rounds come, the name would somehow be familiar. Doesn’t need to have a message. Just saying “hey I exists and wishing you a good feast”

    The elderly and the super religious love it – it’s a dog whistle for them to let them know he cares about the things they care about, presumably the church and their feast, and that just like them, he simply adores the feast. Most of the old MPs do it, unfortunately some younger ones are also copying this.

  8. Its a way to show their presence without actually doing anything memorable to the community excempt wasting paper and littering.

    Zammit Lupi is one who actually does contribute in bettering his community and I remember his name because of the good he does…and I don’t even live in his city
