Ukrainian regime of Yanukovych fell as a result of beating students.

There was a bunch of student protesters in ~~2023~~ 2013 who spent a night protesting against UA-RU integration and promoting UA-EU integration.

In the early morning Berkut (Ukrainian SWAT of those times) came and brutally beat them.

*This* pissed people off. After few months Yanukovych managed to flee to Russia.

Based on Georgian experience, these “policeman” do not understand anything other than force. They specially recruited criminals, dumbest people and gave them police uniform. So f&ck them up before you got a chance

I suppose we all cling on to an illusion that the police are keeping order for us. The order we want.

But if you are like this guy, and you see that the police are really just protecting the people that pay them, and so provide order and status in their own lives, police lives, you see that they’ll go through anyone to keep it. Including you, your grandchild protesting, or anyone who makes them feel threatened, right or wrong.

  4. Why does one shield have policija written on it in Cyrillic and the others don’t?

Well EU supports Vučić. So we will have to overthrow this dictator ourselves thankfully without foreign interference in government overthrow. But then you will wonder why Serbian people are against EU integration. Also dont forget, once this dictator is done, you will not mine lithium here.

  6. It reminded me of how elderly people in Russia were put in prison for protesting the war in Ukraine. What a crazy world we live in.

Peacefull protests always lead to slavery. There are no people among punishers.
Only a special “hot” cocktail turn those police scumbags into “polite” citizens. Those cocktails were widely used in Ukraine, and none was used in Belarus – what work and what doesnt – is obvious.

just visit policemen in their homes. when they are not geared up. if they refuse protect people, people should give them feedback.

  9. Is it the police beating innocent people? Or is it mercenary thugs in police uniforms?

Don’t know who “good” or “bad” there. But as always such a show. Highlighted points of view. Tags.
Everyone good versus everything bad. As in stupid childish films.

Based on Serbian experience, maybe leave this to people who ACTUALLY FOLLOW THE NEWS AND SEE WHATS GOING ON instead of meddling if you barely know whats going on.
SIDE NOTE, the students ALWAYS do things like this with begging. They once began throwing rocks at the police, ran away while still throwing, barely any physical violence by cops was used unless for arresting, and just…kept running. All after declaring an ultimatum. Pathetic

as we see from around the world and countries that are experiencing those protests that are closer to serbia. Nearly all of those police forces are hired during the authoritarian regime times which makes them the regimes police not the people. It’s been proven that even in some protests in those countries the regime party members or supporters were wearing the police uniforms without identification badges.

Man if only they showed this kind of empathy when their armies were committing genocides during the Yugoslav wars.
