On the night of July 3, Odessa was attacked by Russian drones, resulting in damage to a multi-story building. Rescuers evacuated 50 people, including two children. Four people were injured, three of whom were hospitalized. One of the building’s entrances suffered significant destruction, making it currently unsafe to stay there. After dismantling the emergency structures, specialists will assess the condition of the building, as reported by Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

    In the context of international support for Ukraine, the U.S. Department of Defense is working on expanded military aid options for President Donald Trump. Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell stated during a briefing on July 2 that the department is reviewing its approaches to ensure the aid aligns with U.S. defense priorities and does not weaken the combat readiness of the American army. Details regarding the volume, types of weapons, or delivery timelines have not yet been disclosed, but the defense secretary will continue consulting the president on further support for Ukraine.

    Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky previously announced that all details of defense support deliveries, including components of air defense, are being clarified at working levels between Ukraine and the U.S.

    Moldova has completed the EU’s bilateral screening across four clusters of accession negotiations. This was reported by a European Commission spokesperson. The clusters cover fundamental issues, the internal market, competitiveness and inclusive growth, as well as external relations. Moldova has demonstrated significant progress. For Ukraine, screening has been completed in three clusters, and reports have already been sent to the EU Council.

    On June 26, during a European Council meeting, Romanian President Nicolae Ciucă announced that on July 4, the European Union will open the first cluster of Moldova’s EU accession negotiations.

    It has become known who posted bail for the Minister of National Unity, Oleksiy Chernyshov. The total bail amount is 120 million hryvnias. According to Radio Liberty, the bail was posted by Chernyshov’s wife Svitlana, DIM Group marketing director Dariya Bedya, and the company Foravto Tor LLC. Svitlana Chernyshova posted 10 million hryvnias, Dariya Bedya – 44 million hryvnias, and Foravto Tor – 66 million hryvnias.

    However, Foravto Tor’s owner, Eduard Martynenko, denies any involvement in the bail, claiming this is the first time he has heard about it. DIM also stated that they were unaware of Dariya Bedya posting bail; she resigned from the company on June 27.

    The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office have informed Chernyshov of suspicion of abuse of office and receiving unlawful benefits on an especially large scale. He is accused of corruption crimes committed between 2020 and 2022 while heading the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development.
