The Polish authorities have issued a strong protest to the Russian Federation in connection with the massive airstrike on Kyiv, which caused significant damage to civilian infrastructure and injuries among the peaceful residents of the Ukrainian capital. The consular section of the Polish embassy was also affected by the shelling.

    Official statements on this matter were published on the pages of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the embassy in Kyiv on social media. Warsaw sent a note of protest to Moscow, emphasizing that airstrikes on civilian targets violate international law, including the 1961 Vienna Convention.

    On the night of July 4, Russia launched an attack on Ukraine using strike drones and missiles. According to the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian air defense destroyed 478 targets. The main strike was directed at Kyiv and the Kyiv region.

    As a result of this attack, more than 20 people were injured, including wounded individuals, and one fatality was recorded.

    Radosław Sikorski, Poland’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, confirmed that the building of the consular section of the Polish embassy in Kyiv was damaged as a result of the shelling.
