On 3 May, Grigol Baramidze, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Cuba, presented his Letters of Credence to the President of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez.

Following the official ceremony, a meeting was held during which Ambassador Baramidze expressed his gratitude to the President for Cuba’s steadfast support of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He emphasized the importance of expanding bilateral cooperation and extended his best wishes for the continued success of the Cuban government.

In response, the President of Cuba reaffirmed the country’s readiness to strengthen cooperation with Georgia—an old friend and a nation with a rich cultural heritage—across a range of areas including diplomatic relations, economic and trade cooperation, tourism, culture, education, and new technologies.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Ambassador Baramidze paid tribute to Cuba’s national hero by laying flowers at the memorial of José Martí.
