Finland should be proud of that performance despite the loss. They dominated the ball for significant periods and made things incredibly difficult for Norway. Marko Saloranta and his players were unlucky to come away from that with nothing.

That was another unconvincing performance from Norway, but they won’t really care. They were disjointed at times – and in important areas of the pitch. However, the personnel in their team proved to make the difference in the end. The individual brilliance of Caroline Graham Hansen gave Norway that final push to victory.

    Peter Oh says:

“For a summary of fan reaction to that Finland equaliser, please see the first two letters of Oona.”

Adam messaged in just before kick-off to say:

“Very much looking forward to this one; Norway navigating this apparent mental block after a thoroughly unconvincing win over the Swiss will be fascinating to see. I don’t really give Finland a prayer…but just imagine if they take the lead.

“Do you know what happened with Norway’s numbers? I don’t understand how such an illegible font got onto those otherwise lovely kits!”

I can confirm that those Norway kit numbers are incredibly hard to read from afar!

41 min: Norway do not look like they are playing for a place in the quarter-finals. Everything just seems sloppy. Finland appear to be putting in more effort across the pitch. This isn’t good enough from Gemma Grainger’s team.

    Share

39 min: Sevenius carries the ball forward through the middle before cutting onto her right and going for goal, but her effort is off-target.
