Microgravity is gonna leave them as brittle as a cracker and ambient radiation is gonna find its way into their systems; whoever ends up being a part of the “first colony” is going to have a very miserable and very short remainder of their lives and Mars will be littered with corpses
No one is going to Mars so this is just cosplay.

This is possibly the stupidest mars related project so far, this is just straight propaganda for some 4 letter persons name.. Mars is a one way suicide mission and anyone who thinks congress has the stomach to send people to an inhospitable planet to die live on tv is out of their minds.
My favorite quote about this is “a remote desert on earth after a nuclear holocaust is a paradise compared to mars.”
Its an almost vacuum that will boil your blood if exposed, blasted daily by lethal radiation, dust storms, the probably 3 year round trip with the capsule likely to be peppered with micro meteorites (JWST has been hit countless times) and 0 possibility of a rescue.
Im all about sending more unmanned missions to mars but this is just LARPing.
I think it’s fun to waste money on nonsense as well.
