  2. Hopefully something positive comes out of this.  More co operation and changes to the laws on physically stopping boats in France are all good steps.

  3. very simple, make an airport near the problem area, round them up, fly them back to whatever hole they’re from. the amount of money the british and french have collectively spent on not fixing the issue would be enough for probably 10 airports.

  4. People might not like Starmers but his foreign relations mending has been very good. It’s amazing what a smart grown up can get done. Hes a bit like Brown and just carries on getting things done.

    It shouldn’t of been our problem anyways they are passing through multiple EU countries and using the French as a resting spot. This should have nothing to do with us. It should be the EUs responsibility.

  6. Wjy would France want to stop the boats (and migrants) leaving France? Surely its in their interests to let them move on.

    Honestly, love the French – our nearest neighbours deserve more attention than they get in the media. The orange vandal heads a country that wasn’t even formed when us and the French were scrapping!

  8. The UK and France worked together to stop these people crossing in the backs of lorries, the result was the small boat crisis. Focusing on the mechanism without addressing the root causes will not solve the problem, just cause it to adapt.

  9. Oh look, when this happens to Spain they say it’s our problem, but when it enters their countries it’s a European problem.
