On roofs and in water pipes, asbestos endangers the citizens of Kosovo

For more than half a century, many buildings in the center of Pristina have remained covered with roofs containing asbestos, a material known for the health risks it poses.
Although banned in many countries around the world, in Kosovo it continues to be present in infrastructure, including in water pipes and on the roofs of private and public buildings, such as hospitals and schools.
The most worrying situation remains in the capital, where according to official data, there are over 230 thousand square meters of building roofs and about 70 kilometers of water pipes with asbestos materials.
