Looks like your data is missing some dates at the end there. Also, the USD/DKK plot is just a USD/EUR plot, as the DKK is pegged to the EUR

The MAGA geniuses have started the talking point that devaluing our currency is a good thing and means we sell our stuff to other countries cheaper. I am not sure they are quite capable of putting the other puzzle piece in that means we buy things from other countries at higher prices.

Devaluing the currency makes imports more expensive and exports cheaper. That’s why China purposely devalues the yuan. Decreasing the US trade deficit requires currency devaluation, which the current administration seems intent on, so I’d expect to see it drop even further

Would be cool if you could highlight the other years too, so we could reference it to other dates like 2008.

Yes. Many people have argued that the high US dollar is actually harmful to working people in America. It makes US goods artificially expensive. Lowering the dollar vs other currencies makes American products more desirable.
A cheaper currency is often a desirable thing to boost the economy.

Please everyone don’t jumps to conclucion on a very complicated topic that is currency exchange rate or FX, especially for a reserve currency of the magnitude that is the USD which is used not only in supporting global trade(with US or non-US to non-US) and domestic FX balance (related to federal treasury debt short term and long term, which I know also gets misunderstood very often).
For a very surface comparison read Plaza Accord and see the impact it had especially on Japan which is very similar to how China currently is viewed by mass populance. But even then more caution as China is in a similar economic situation but the make up of its GDP and many other factors are vastly different, not to mention its government.
All this is just to say data and graph is only what you make of it, and avoid making haste conclusions.

Generally curious, why compare the USD to Scandinavian currencies and not other currencies that more widely used. I’m sure there isn’t a massive difference but I’m curious.
