Jeta Loshaj from the Kosovo Center for Security Studies said that US President Donald Trump’s statement that he stopped the war in Kosovo could be part of his agenda, as before coming to power he said that he would stop all wars.
She said on KTV’s “Interaktiv” that we need to see where Serbia’s position towards Kosovo stands.
Loshaj added that Serbia poses a continuing threat to Kosovo.
“The Banjska scenario was part of a special operation through which they hoped to escalate the situation in Kosovo. If the threat has existed recently, perhaps there has been a tendency on the part of institutions not to spread fear among people,” she said.
She said that the issue of four non-recognizing states in NATO penalizes Kosovo greatly.
According to her, even if Kosovo cannot join, it can strengthen relations with NATO.
“Trump had tried to reach an agreement between Kosovo and Serbia through economic issues. The US foreign policy is to have a Europe free and whole and that Kosovo’s membership in NATO would bring more stability. “A major obstacle is the issue of normalizing relations with Serbia, in which Russia is also interfering,” he said.
The President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, has once again declared that he has stopped the war between Kosovo and Serbia.
He made this statement during a meeting with NATO Secretary General, Mark Rutte.
He lists several countries that he says have influenced the absence of war between them, including Kosovo and Serbia.
President Vjosa Osmani, days ago, confirmed the statements of US President Donald Trump that he had avoided a possible escalation of the security situation in Kosovo by Serbia. But in the latter case, Osmani emphasized that Trump had prevented a recent escalation.
Meanwhile, the United States envoy, Richard Grenell, has accused President Vjosa Osmani of manipulating President Trump’s words.
