The number of foreign tourists in North Macedonia is increasing

The State Statistical Office of North Macedonia has announced that the number of tourists in May 2025 is 130.739, of which 22,4 percent are domestic tourists, while 77.6 percent are foreign tourists.

According to the announcement, during the month of May, 231.313 overnight stays were recorded, of which 28,8 percent were domestic tourists, and 71,2 percent were foreign tourists, albinfo.ch reports.

Regarding the period January – May 2025, compared to the same period of the previous year, the total number of tourists increased by 16,3 percent, while domestic tourists decreased by 1,0 percent, while foreign tourists increased by 23,6 percent.

The total number of overnight stays, again, increased by 12,0 percent. There was a decrease of 0,3 percent among domestic tourists, while there was an increase of 18,7 percent among foreign tourists.
