GREECE, N.Y. — Greece Police say a 19-year-old has been taken into custody after an hours-long standoff on Brayton Road in Greece.

According to police, they responded to a home on Brayton Road at around 4:30 a.m. for a “domestic incident involving a firearm.”

The Greece SWAT Team was activated to do a thorough search of the home and safely find the suspect, whose name has not been released. News10NBC crews saw the SWAT van pullup, with members coming out one-by-one.

Crews also saw one officer walking around with a shield, another officer on top of a garage in the backyard.

One neighbor says they were out there at around 5:30 a.m. when he woke up and heard them tell someone to come out with their hands up and empty.

“I did see earlier this morning. Drone was right in front of the suspected house there, and a voice came over the drone that said, this is the police department. Come out with your hands up and not being in your hands. So that’s what I heard,” said Chuck Monachino.

Monachino says he thought maybe someone died due to all the police.

Police say there is no danger to the public. Brayton Road between Dewey Avenue and Tait Avenue was closed during the investigation but has since reopened.
