Musk highlights Kosovo in green, ranks country with highest birth rate in Europe

Billionaire and former associate of US President Donald Trump, Elon Musk, has shared on his profile on the social network X an interesting map on the state of birthrate in Europe.
On this map, Kosovo is marked in green, reflecting one of the highest fertility rates on the continent.
The map shows European countries by the expected number of children per family. According to the description on the map: less than one child is considered an “extremely low rate”, up to one child a “low rate”, up to 1.5 children an “insufficient rate”, up to 1.9 a “near replacement rate”, and over 2.1 children “above replacement rate”.

As can be seen on the map, a large part of Europe is “in the red,” meaning it has low fertility rates. Among the countries with the lowest figures is Ukraine, where the expected number of children per family is just 1.0.
In the western part of the continent, France stands out, with a rate of 1.63, among the best in Europe.
Also notable is the Southeast European region, where several countries have high rates. Bosnia and Herzegovina has a rate of 1.58, while Serbia (1.61), Montenegro (1.79), and the continent’s record holder – Kosovo – with the highest rate of 1.9 are ranked higher.
In addition to these, Moldova (1.66) and Bulgaria (1.72) also have the lowest rate considered alarming.
At the bottom of the European list, in addition to Ukraine, are Spain (1.12), Lithuania (1.13) and Estonia (1.17).
