Hello all, right now in Gozo (Xlendi) there is a dying duck.
In short, her mother left her in the middle of the sea, the duckling kept getting flipped over by the waves and struggling to swim, then other big ducks starting biting him and once they left, big fish started to bite hit and that’s when a kind man stepped in and jumped to pick him up from the water.
We then guided the man to where we think his mother could be (the only other ducklings we could find) and we placed him on a safe distance as they kept biting us but now him.
We really don’t know what to do.
The Gozo Animal Welfare 24/7 support line answered and told us they don’t help ducks… it’s so sad that there is an animal in need and no one is there to fully help him.
We leave Gozo tomorrow and don’t want him on the ferry in the intense heat to not cause any more discomfort to him, perhaps some locals could kindly assist him?
Thank you in advance!
