Avdullah Hoti: In January-May 2025, Kosovo imported 117% more from Serbia than in the same period in 2024

Former Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti has published several tables, in which he presented the level of imports from Serbia in the period January-May 2024 and the increase in imports to around 50 million euros in the same period in 2025.
Hoti said that for the same period in 2025, Kosovo imported 117% more from Serbia.
“Given the nature of the goods imported from Serbia, it is very likely that local production has been reduced by the increased amount of imports from Serbia,” Hoti wrote.

What is happening with imports from Serbia?
In the period January-May 2025, compared to the same period in 2024, the import of goods into Kosovo from Serbia increased by 117%.
From 42.08 million euros imported during the months of January-May 2024, imports have increased to 91.37 million euros for the months of January-May 2025.
Given the nature of the goods imported from Serbia, it is highly likely that domestic production has decreased by the increased amount of imports from Serbia.
