The Central Bank of Kosovo has announced that following the World Bank’s decision, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has also removed Kosovo from the list of countries in fragile and conflict situations.

The CBK has expressed gratitude to the IMF for this decision.

“The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has removed Kosovo from the list of Fragile and Conflict-Prone Countries (FCS/FCV), following the World Bank (WB).”

“The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBK) expresses its deep gratitude to the IMF for this important recognition of Kosovo’s institutional progress and macro-financial stability,” the CBK statement said.

We recall that a few days ago, the World Bank removed Kosovo from the list of countries in conflict or (FCS – Fragile and Conflict-Affected Situations), also known as the FCV List.

The main benefits of leaving the FCS list:

Improving international perception of Kosovo’s institutional and economic stability;

Increased investor confidence and reduced financial risk assessments;

More favorable access to development financing and private capital;

Complementation of the first sovereign credit rating for Kosovo, which reflects the positive trend in the country’s governance and economy.

The CBK has emphasized that this achievement strengthens Kosovo’s international credibility and supports the institutions’ efforts for sustainable development, financial inclusion and European integration.
