The Wisconsin Department of Health Services warned 52,000 residents will be at high-risk of losing health coverage
Sen. Ron Johnson comments on President Donald Trump’s tax policy bill
Senator Ron Johnson, R-Wisconsin, comments on President Donald Trump’s tax policy bill during a Milwaukee Press Club luncheon in Milwaukee.
Suffering and death will be the greatest achievement of the obscene, immoral budget bill just passed by the Republicans in Congress and signed by President Donald Trump (“Trump signs tax cut and spending bill into law,” July 6).
Budget cuts of $1.1 trillion to Medicaid and other health programs will result in an estimated 11.8 to 17 million Americans losing their medical coverage over the next 10 years. This contrasts with the steady increase in medical coverage of Americans since Medicaid was created in 1965.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services warned 52,000 residents will be at high-risk of losing health coverage. Even more Badgers may lose health coverage because the law changes the Affordable Care Act and Medicare. Health studies show that lack of health insurance increases death rates, so some Badgers may die earlier because of this law.
Sen. Ron Johnson and Reps. Bryan Steil, Derrick Van Orden, Scott Fitzgerald, Glenn Grothman, Tom Tiffany and Tony Wied, what are you going to tell your constituents when they ask you why you caused their parent to lose nursing home care, when a parent of a disabled child asks why they no longer get care, when a hospital in your area closes because of having to, by law, give free care to the poor, without Medicaid compensation? What?
