I am confused.. why are there three images, what are the differences among the three images?

This is a cool graph concept, and really interesting stats, but very ugly and hard to read.

The presentation a tually detracts from the subjeft matter Im afraid…

  3. So it’s basically just about distance from the Great Power in question. I like how Europeans perceive the US as the greater threat than China – which is honestly perfectly reasonable.

  4. US threat to Spain? Is that a genuine sentiment or leftwing LARP? Like, the gringos are coming for the remaining colonial possesions.

Data source? If true, Mexico is insane.

    Although it does seem possible.

China should top the list for most countries.

Edit: Notably, Taiwan isn’t listed. I’m calling Chinese propaganda.

Special course on protagonist syndrome, fucking Spain thinks the US is a major threat? Lmfao

Most Americans couldn’t find Kenya on a map, I’m not sure how we could “threaten” them?

I’m from the US, and we are a much bigger threat to ourselves than any external threat.

Great project, would love the results of a tweaked version where respondents could select their own county as an option 😅

  9. This statistic should be: how fooled is people to believe a country is their enemy.

The fact that a dictatorship like China or a pseudo dictatorship like Russia, that for decades have been doing whatever they want , are not at the top, it just proves you how dumb people are.

Trump is stupid, but the guy will be long gone. You have been suffering Putin for 30 years and Chinese dictatorsipp for almost a 100….. But for dump people , Trump is the problem

People are lazy to think by themselves and leave the decision to others that manipulate them.

  10. Not listed: which countries China considers a threat.

Also, interesting to see that neither South Africa, Spain, Italy, nor Greece seem to care very much about China at all.

  11. So in conclusion, US, Russia and China are the major threats to global population. Why am I not surprised?

  12. I love Mexico, but excepting a few years where the Spanish did significant damage, the greatest threat to Mexico has always been Mexico.

When I was a little kid, I would hear Bible stories and thought the Philistines were from the Philippines. I was always so confused as to why Israel was fighting someone that far away, or why Oceania would have issues with someone in the Middle East, but according to Indonesia, I wasn’t far off.

It’s astonishing how quickly and severely we destroyed our excellent relationship with Mexico. We invaded them and stole half their land, then subjected them to a century of neoimperialism and they STILL liked us. Guess we finally went too far

  15. Maybe Israel should worry about spending more on schooling til people find out Hamas isn’t a country

  16. Greece hating Turkey’s guts while Turkey totally blanks them to hate on the US and Israel: kinda hilarious in a dark realpolitik sorta way.

  17. Im surprised their isn’t a higher percent of people from the USA worried about the USA! (The terrorism is coming from inside the house…)

  18. Looks as though at least in this sample of countries it’s Russia that’s the most threatening with the USA and China tied for second.

  19. A lot of Americans in this thread are not taking this well. When your country has invaded/destabilized multiple countries within the past 2 decades and has a president who antagonizes everyone, it doesn’t really look good for your country.

  20. 77% of Russians consider Sweden a threat. Maybe they shouldn’t have pushed them to join Nato? 😀
