  1. You don’t get the money to buy a 9 million dollar property without being a completely self-centred arsehole. No surprises here. Waiting for any legit consequence for millionaires though – if I littered in front of a cop I’d face more consequence than this bloke destroying the beach.

what’s stopping another member of the public taking a front loader down there to rip it up

Encroaching public land, no one can own beach in Australia and this limits access to beach. No permit to do it either, if he did it within his property, had a permit and not on crown land, sure. But This guy ignored all this.

I see the issue, if you can’t get insurance what about public liability issues or if his private land then landslides into people below on crown land killing them. I mean we woukd expect as a society that when there’s a risk of injury that we try to mitigate it.

  5. Pretty simple – does he own the land that the wall is built on? If not, get rid of it and STFU.

If hed just built this on his own land, I feel like everyone would support him fully and not give a shit what the council says.

Becauee his primary objective here appears to be to steal beachfront land from the public; this guy will have ZERO support from anyone.

As council, I would get it surveyed, then just bring in a bulldozer and destroy it. Let him sue if he wants. But place the onus on him.

Given the wall is not his property, and the council doesn’t want it, surely no issue with members of the public knocking it down?

They should do what happened in 2015 in London when developers knocked down a historical pub but it was a old hangout pub for lawyers.

They had the developers rebuild it brick for brick.

But we all know that won’t happen. What will happen instead is that police is made to go after those who vandalise it.

I don’t understand how council is powerless to stop him? It’s an illegal build, just go tear it down and issue him a huge fine, plus revoke the licences of the tradies building it.

  10. How come the tradies that did it aren’t getting in the spotlight or forced to tear it down again?

  11. “four metres onto Frankston’s public beach”
Take that 4 meter back and seize 4 meters into his property for a consequence 😉

Can the Frankston council do anything? Why are they not doing more??

In saying that, Frankston council are all Liberal wannabes, so they’re probably mates. And I’m not even joking. Frankston council are corrupt as fuck.

Be a shame if people knew where he lived and knew that there would be no consequences to intrude their boundary

If a fine is the only penalty, it’s only a fine for the poor.

    Time for jail time.

The council does not have to go to court at all. This is crown land. An appropriate government department can send a bulldozer in at any time. There is legislation (EPA Act 2000) which allows both councils and state government to fine people for environmental vandalism. They can probably sue for cost reimbursement as well.
