Kosovo’s trade deficit widened significantly to EUR 498.3 million in June 2025, up from EUR 425.4 million in the same month last year.
The increase was driven by a 16.0% surge in imports, which reached EUR 578.7 million.
The main import categories were: mineral products (14.0%), machinery and electrical equipment (13.2%), prepared foods, beverages, and tobacco (13.0%), transport equipment (12.3%), and base metals and related articles (8.6%).
Exports, meanwhile, rose at a slower pace of 9.5%, totaling EUR 80.4 million.
Key export items included: base metals and related articles (21.4%), prepared foods (13.0%), plastics and rubber products (12.5%), miscellaneous manufactured articles (9.8%), and mineral products (6.7%).
