The Democratic Union for Integration has reacted to the approach of the Ministry of Energy, Mines and Mineral Resources, where as they say, according to official data, the ratio of recent employees is 19 Macedonians to only 1 Albanian.

“This is not an administrative deviation or a bureaucratic coincidence, this is a state policy of systematic exclusion of Albanians, which is being carried out with full awareness and with clear political support,” say the DUI.

“This injustice stems directly from the political program of this illegitimate government, which abolished the balancer mechanism, an essential tool for guaranteeing fair and adequate representation of all ethnic communities in public and state administration.

The government has taken dangerous steps to destroy the foundations of interethnic equality in the state, acting as a political front apparatus that serves ethnic exclusivity to the detriment of the inclusion and equality guaranteed by the country’s Constitution.

DUI considers this development as a flagrant violation of the Ohrid Agreement, the constitutional order and the basic principles of democracy. The exclusion of Albanians from institutions is not only injustice, it is a destabilizing act that undermines the foundations of the multiethnic state and the country’s Euro-Atlantic path.

DUI demands urgent correction of this discrimination, restoration of the constitutional balancer as a guarantee of equality, and full transparency in the composition of all public and state institutions.

“We will remain at the forefront of the battle for full equality, institutional justice and protection of the collective rights of Albanians in every sector of the state,” the DUI’s response states.
