Dive-In Movie Nights

The city of Fontana is hosting “Dive-In Movies,” a hybrid film and swimming series. While swimming, families can watch the 2002 animated Disney classic “Lilo & Stitch,” featuring the voices of Chris Sanders, Kevin McDonald (“The Kids in the Hall”), Ving Rhames and Tia Carrere.

Fontana Farmers Market

The city of Fontana, in conjunction with The Family Market Company, will offer residents a chance to stroll through Fontana Park’s famed Farmers Market, where they can find fresh local produce, healthy prepared foods, specialty items and much more every week.

Kids Summer Animaker

Space 3D Printing

JULY 28

Children 8 to 12 will be able to use the Fontana Lewis Library and Technology Center’s Statasys F170 3D printers and TinkerCAD to create a special project of their own. Participants will receive a how-to from library staff on the basics of these computer programs and machinery.

Teens Summer Animaker Space Laser Cutting

JULY 30

Library Animaker Space specialists will teach youth ages 13 to 17 how to use the Trotec Speedy 100 Laser Cutter and CorelDRAW to create a project. The Garner Holt Animaker Space at the Fontana Lewis Library and Technology Center features other computer programs and machinery, such as 3D printing, TinkerCAD, vinyl printing, animatronics and heat pressing.

Dance Dance Evolution

JULY 31

As part of the city of Fontana’s Summer Concert Series, Dance Dance Evolution will headline at the Miller Park Amphitheater. Dance Dance Evolution is a six-piece co-ed group that will perform versions of such hits as Madonna’s “Get Into the Groove,” Donna Summer’s “Hot Stuff” and Jennifer Lopez’s “Let’s Get Loud.” The concert will also have food vendors and family-friendly entertainment.

Mariachi Band Performance

JULY 31

A mariachi band will perform for patrons at El Baja Bar & Grill. The establishment’s Sunday buffet brunch special features fajitas and enchiladas paired with soda, bottomless mimosas and hot coffee. Adults pay $38 and kids’ meals cost $12. Around 11 a.m., the live music starts.

Village People

AUG. 1

Legendary New York City disco group The Village People will be performing on Aug. 1 at Stage Red Fontana, delivering such ’70s smashes as “YMCA,” “In the Navy” and “Macho Man” among others.
