Extreme heat hits Kosovo – 42.5°C in Klina, highest temperatures ever recorded

The Kosovo Hydrometeorological Institute has announced that Thursday, July 25, 2025, brought an unusual heat wave, with record temperatures recorded in many cities in the country.
According to measurements from the State Network of Automatic Meteorological Stations, the highest temperature was recorded at Hani i Elezit, with 41.6°C, breaking all previous records. Other cities also faced scorching temperatures: Klina 42.5°C, Gjakova 40.7°C, Rahovec 40.2°C, Suhareka 40.4°C, Prizren 40.3°C.
In the capital, Pristina, the temperature was recorded 38.4°C, while in Mitrovica 39.0°COther cities such as Gjilan (39.6°C), Kamenica (39.7°C) and Skenderaj (38.7°C) were also severely affected by the scorching heat.
