The country music world has been praying for Emmy Russell and her husband Tyler Ward since they shared that their young daughter had to be rushed to the hospital last weekend and was undergoing tests.

The couple shared this week that they believe the prayers paid off for Taylor Raydiant, who was born earlier this year.

“She has infantile spasms,” Ward announced in a video on Instagram. “Which, after doing research, it’s 0.02% of conditions. So, very, very rare.

“Often, treated early, results can be positive,” he added. “It’s about a 50/50 chance, which is crazy. We feel like y’all’s prayers and support have actually made a huge difference.”

All of that still sounds pretty scary, but they explained a big positive was that MRIs showed that her brain looked good.

“The whole team of like six came in and said they didn’t see anything but the radiologist had to look at the charts again,” Ward said. “Three hours later the radiologist came in and said everything looks normal. There is one concern, and we will go into details of that at some point. But for the most part, we got to take Taylor home. She has two weeks of medication and then the follow-up. So, in two weeks we’ll know for sure, but as of now, it’s a miracle. With infantile spasms … it can be severe.”

Infantile spasms is a form of epilepsy that occurs in 1 in every 2,000 children.

Ward showed a video clip of Taylor Raydiant having the spasms.

Emmy, who is the granddaughter of country music legend Loretta Lynn and a former ‘American Idol’ star, began to cry and said she was thinking of the “thousands and thousands of prayers” that were sent their way.

The couple first took to Instagram over the weekend to ask for prayers.

“These last few days have been interesting for us,” Ward said. “We’ve noticed that little Taylor has had some seizures and we took her to the hospital today and we know that in these moments, we really do believe in the power of prayer.

“And so we’re just asking you to come alongside us in this moment.”

Russell then shared some of what was going on.

“She’s doing her EE … what’s it called? EEG,” she said. “So just pray for like normal brain waves. She’s been having these spasms, kind of like she’s falling almost … they were just really concerned about it and wanted to do some … checking how our brain is and everything.

“So pray for answers, because I really do want answers.”

“Taylor has been fussy & crying for the last few days and we assumed it was teething,” the couple wrote in the caption. “But this morning Tyler noticed small spasms. We filmed it and rushed to the doctor. They confirmed it could be small seizures and asked us to stay overnight for testing. It’s a different kind of hard right now. We’re asking for your prayers, we truly believe they could make all the difference.”
